Batch Import from local directory structure

Under Consideration

It would be very helpful to allow koken to read in photos and videos from the local file system initially. This would also smoothen the migration process when moving from other solutions (self-hosted as well as cloud providers) to koken.

There is long discussion thread over at the koken customer portal:http://help.koken.me/customer/portal/questions/2448547-import-from-server

A reasonable number of users were requesting this feature, and I know for me, it is a make/break situation on deciding what CMS to go with.

The recent pace of releases suggests that it may be some time before it's implemented: http://help.koken.me/customer/portal/articles/848339-release-notes

Such a shame, ultimately it should be trivial to add, for someone who knows the existing code well. I mean I would settle for being able to import by url in bulk and use local urls, but one image at a time is untenable.

You can already upload more than one image at at time; the thread you referred to was requesting mass-import from an existing web server instead of uploading. If you have enough images to warrant that, you have bigger issues to consider.

Koken is still very good, but I would check out recent views on its future trajectory & support elsewhere on the web before deciding to go with it.
