A enhanced Lightroom plugin

Under Consideration

A Lightroom plugin that can handle syncing both ways

Since the

current Lightroom plugin is rather limited there is room for much

improvement: and this can be a "premium alternative".

Thank you for posting this. The basic idea works, but it is redundant to import files into the Koken library from LR while having to then once again move the files within the Koken library to an appropriate album or set.

It would be great if LR was able to see the sets and albums within Koken, and export files directly to those places.

Also one other thing missing from current lightroom plugin is the ability adding a private album

And it would be great if tags would sync

I know what you're saying - and it does seem like a big oversight. But, they *kinda* do sync now – if you just rely on LR IPTC metadata. I have the "Retain Image Metadata" under Image Publishing option turned on, and so my theme, Madison 2 has the ability to show my LR tags under individual photos. Like this:

http://www.noir.net/tags/re...

(note the other IPTC tags that Koken kept below each image)

But if tags added in Koken, they do not sync back to the LR images, which for some may not be an issue but would be nice.

Oh, well yes – wouldn't a two way sync be nice? But I think that ball is in Adobe's court, as I don't believe the current plugin API allows for it yet.

Wrote a "short post" over at KCS where I ventilated my self on this subject

https://kokensupport.com/vi...

As I see it we need:

Albums/sets

  • Fetch album and sets from Koken
  • Create albums (public, private, unlisted)
  • Change visibility of album/set
  • Move albums
  • Create sets
  • Set album/set summary and description
  • Create password protected albums (if pw protect plugin is active)
  • Set password (if pw protect plugin is active)

Individual photos

  • Set photos to unlisted, private or public
  • Set download options
  • Set copyright options
  • Remove photo from album
  • Delete photo from library
  • Set categories for photo
  • Set photo as purchasable (if cart is installed)
  • Set purchase options for photo (if cart is installed)

As a new user of the cart plugin, I feel SSL encryption is a must to insure privacy and trust with users in this age where it expected. Sadly, the current plugin will not publish to an SSL encrypted Koken website. This seems like a much needed addition to the feature list.

I can confirm this.

Worked like a charm (with some strange errors, but still...) before i forced the ssl via htaccess.

Now i have to disable ssl if i want to upload new photos.

same here... 'upgraded'/re-installed koken from http to https and plugin stopped working ...

(would be nice to have known that in front ...)

Hi fellow Koken user,

I found a fix to the Publish to HTTPS - sadly I don't remember the URL (somewhere deep in the Koken help pages I think). The problem has to do with the default protocol, and the fix requires you editing the KokenAPI.lua file within the koken.lrplugin package (on a Mac koken.lrplugin is a folder, and you can use terminal to get into the folder, and nano to do the editing). Within that file, there are two occurrences of propertyTable.protocol = 'http' (lines 183 and 193 for me). Add the 's' to that 'http' so you end up with 'https'. Save that file, re-start Lightroom and you should be good to go. The only downside is that if you publish to multiple sites, and they are not all HTTPS, then you'll need to install two copies of the LR plugin.

I tried it and it works.

For me (on Windows) the file had also on line 183 and 193 the http reference.

Changed that to https and it works great now.

I only have 2 sites (1 test and 1 production) and both with https, so no drawbacks for me ;-)

The suggested SSL updates have been added to the official plugin https://store.koken.me/ligh...

Eric - glad to know - hopefully this will be easily findable so that others can make this same edit!
